Okay, now I want Dorkings - thanks beckymom3! Very cute chick! Be sure to post more pics later.

Today is day 18 for me. I've seen a wiggler (or did I just imagine that?) and a rocker (definitely and obviously) and now I'm hearing "ghost peeping" from the incubator (I think

). So something is alive in there! I just love spotting that first pip . . .

Congrats to all who made it to hatch. I hope to be joining you shortly!

Okay, the Australorps and Brahmas are indignant at all the attention the Dorkings are getting.

They are cheeping and cheeping like mad! I keep hallucinating pips! Darn those speckeldy eggs!

I think my Dorking baby needs to read the BYC post on when to intervene in a hatch.....The only thing she's not doing naughty is opening the incubator!

Otherwise, she's expanding pips and rolling the eggs everywhere.

There's no blood at all, the membranes are white and there's no fluid leaking, just dampness deep within on the parts of the chicks that are within the egg. There's fluff poking out of 4 of the eggs. It's been over 5 hours since I got home and there's been progress, though slow. I thought surely one other chick would be out to join sissy. Buncha lazy slowpokes!

At least I have a task at hand: go get kids from school. Boy are they going to be excited when they see these chickies!!!!!

7 silver penciled rock bantam chicks all healthy and happy! The others seemed to quit late. Now I have about 5 or 6 visable pips in my Duccle eggs.

Sounds about like when i was pregnant with my son.. I kept trying to get my husband to feel him kick.. He would put his hand on my tummy and automatically, the kicking would stop! He thought I was crazy!

Go, rockers! It's no time to worry, you've got them thru this far. Sometimes they are early because of breed type, higher temps, etc. Best wishes & happy hatching!

I have a pip!

It's one of my A/A eggs (Ameraucana x Araucana). My wiggling egg is now visibly rocking (another A/A) - I thought it would be the first to pip but evidently I was mistaken. Go chickies!

My chicks started hatching Sun nite early Mon morning I really can't see into my incubator but it looks like most of the eggs are hatched how bad would it be to take out all the chicks right now then I could tell how many haven't hatched. My humidity now is unknown but the chicks didn't have any trouble hatching and it was 65 to start and I have been adding water to the channel.

I usually leave my hatched chicks in for 12 - 24 hrs. I forgot how many eggs you set & how many are still unhatched. If it seems like time to remove the chicks to you then you are doing what's best. Congrats on your hatch so far!
