April Hatch Thread--Come Join Us!

Hi
Can I join in for the final impatient hours...I am on day 20...nothing at all to see - no pips, no rocking, no peeping.
I started with 9 barnyard mix eggs and all 9 made it into lockdown. I am hatching in my Hovabator. The eggs have been in either my Brinsea octagon eco or the hovabator throughout (my brinsea turning cradle died in the first week :( )
This is my first hatch since 2010 as we moved to Italy and its taken a few years to get settled enough to start up again. Bit nervous because I normally have rocking, pipping or peeping by now.
I have still got 2 goslings, 3 mallard and 5 Muscovy eggs rocking in the brinsea which are due next Saturday, and looking ok for now.

I've always had good hatches on the whole, but am nervous because this time I am running my US 110V incubators through a transformer to compensate for Italian 220V electrical supply, and transformers are notorious for power surges and dips...

WOW! Lucky boy indeed! I am on pins and needles about your lizards too! I keep checking the thread to see if there is progress yet, it's driving me crazy! In a good way though, as it distracts me from checking on my own eggs constantly. Good luck and I hope "someone or thing" gets out of those eggs alive! What are baby lizards called anyway? LOL

I am not entirely sure what baby lizards are called or indeed their gustation period?????? Wouldn;t it be a real laugh if they really did turn out to be Lizards!
Seriously though there is no change and I am feeling way deflated about them. I have a feeling that they are gone. - but I could be wrong you never know.
I really shouldn;t feel bad - you guys didn;t see the mess they arrived in. There is still yolk splattered on one egg - we didn;t realise it was there untill it was warmed up under the heat and now of course it is welded to the shell. I must think positive in that if anything was growing at all that means at least the new bator is working and what is happening is probably more to do with the viability of the eggs after their shocking transport ordeal. I truely believe they got stood on or kicked or dropped. They were certainly not treated with care! That and being labled Dorkings - they didn;t have much of a start in life! The odds were as they say stacked!

Here's the one I did an assisted hatch on today. It was shrink wrapped inside the shell, but perfectly healthy and after resting a little he was ready to go back out to his momma hen
