please the eggs must be set by tommorow
serma~
this is what you need to do...set the humidity to no more than 30% no less than 20%. temp should be no more than 100, no less than 99.5. I usually don' t fret over humidity till lock down but it's good to have an idea at least. I have an lg but I've heard wonderful things about the genius. with shipped eggs they say don't turn for 7 days, sit fat end up. but I've done it both ways...not turning for 7 days, turning after 24 hrs. I've had good results both ways..now what I would do is let them sit and settle on the counter fat end up for 24 hrs...then candle to check air sac. if air sac looks stable-no jiggles then I would say turn at least 3 times a day if you feel comfortable. if not I haven't seen it hurt the eggs to not be turned for 7 days.

I would set the incubator up 2/3 days before I set my eggs so I could make sure I ddnt have any crazy spikes, etc. once the eggs are in the bator your temp and humidity will go up and down a little-don't panic. leave it alone-don't adjust for at least 24hrs after eggs are set. you don't want to make it go crazy and then have nothing but trouble with the temp..TEMP is the most important thing for the first 18 days, after 18 days worry about the humidity. hope this helps...feel free to pm me anytime!

well day 23 still no more pipps or peeps from the bator. and one of the two that did hatch died this morning. I had a feeling we were going to loose that one. Sounded to me like the (belly button) did not close. I could hear a small click if you can call it that when it breathed. I looked all over the web lastnight for a way to help it but could not find anything. Well now the brooder has one lonely chick in it but I will be working on another set this month for company.

thanks for all the help everyone.

Yes we candled the waxed egg at 14 days. It really did look like a live chick inside and that is why we waxed it - lol

It honestly did look exactly how it does on the candling thread on the 14 day pic! Isn;t that funny nothing in them not a thing and yet two seemed to get heavy over the days. Oh well at least we can laugh over it. I really don;t think they were ever going to turn into a chick!

Oes
It was a disappointing incubation experience for you and your husband I am sure, but, it must make you feel a tiny bit better knowing there was no baby chicks forming that didn't make it as opposed to eggs that just didn't develop? You are trying again in May right?
