April Hatch Thread--Come Join Us!

Here are the new babies! We had 5 Hatch 4/5, 2 hatched 4/6 and 2 more this morning.(I had one with a severe belly deformity that we put down. But I am happy! I still have a few eggs in the incubator, but I don't think there was anything happening in them. And we should be setting our next hatch either this weekend or next monday.
Yay. Babies!!

So cute! Congratulations!

Just candled for day 5. Out of 7 eggs, I only see 5 growing. The 2 Barnevelders definitely appear to be yolkers :-(.

Oh I'm so happy! My Brand New incubator showed up yesterday.

And I also have a Second hand Fully Auto hova-Bator on its way. Should be here today!! It's nearly New was used one season. On the down side there is no instruction. And I think these are still air?! Has anyone got any advise with these? I've heard a lot of bad of the boards. Despite that I've hatched lots of bearded dragons in one I used to own.

But I will have to learn quick how to use it cause I got 30 eggs coming tomorrow and more next week.
I'm not putting any in it yet. Going to run it over the weekend first.
As I got room in my two other bators.

I don't have any helpful advice but what kid of incubator is that?

I thinks it once of those 'built in china' type models! No name! I bought it on eBay! It is fantastic! Holds 56 eggs. But a lot more if you take the turner out. Alarms set to preference. You can calibrate the thermostats gages and everything is auto!! Just as eggs and water!! Love it! I had a good play. Set my incubated eggs that are on day 12 today. As my other one was just too much hard work! Constantly over heated due to a broken thermostat control. So this came as a godsend. It seems to be running perfectly. Fingers crossed!! I have checked over all the temps and the humidity seems to be reading 10 % lower than it actually is. It also comes with a very good manual. Actually I have read a lot of the info in it on an American website. So I am thinking this maybe used in the states. I'm in the uk! I paid £127 posted for it. Not sure on exchange rates but probably same value out in the US. IF it stays running good I would recommend it for sure!

Congrats! I'm still waiting on pips. Trying really hard to find anything else to do in the meantime. Have a couple eggs rocking like crazy, so hopefully they'll be breaking out soon.

Weighed a few of my day 5 coolerbator batch, and all is looking good there. Candled a couple of them just out of curiosity, and saw some nice, strong veining already. I'll be adding 6 mottled Ameraucana eggs to that group tomorrow.
I would love to have some Ameraucana eggs!
I have 11 chicks right now that have hatched, several more pipped, but I think one may be dead. I think it pipped through a blood vessel, maybe I am wrong and it's just sleeping but it's beak that is sticking out isn't moving

I have a soccor team in there LOL!!! Mine are just mutts but they are so cute!!!!!!!

How's the hatching ladies! I hope to be joining in the fun here in the next week or so!
BLRW here I come!
Question can I use a regular flash light for candling?

You sure can. But just note that your better of with strong LED lights as they don't heat up like normal bulbs. And often brighter. Go for something with 3 cells of triple A type. This seems to work for me with Dark eggs and if you have any light eggs Its like looking through a glass window!!
I candeled mine before putting them in the new Bator and wow I could see the umbilical cord swinging around the top of the egg and this Chick having a good old Dance!!
