Here are the new babies! We had 5 Hatch 4/5, 2 hatched 4/6 and 2 more this morning.(I had one with a severe belly deformity that we put down. But I am happy!

I still have a few eggs in the incubator, but I don't think there was anything happening in them. And we should be setting our next hatch either this weekend or next monday.

I thinks it once of those 'built in china' type models! No name! I bought it on eBay! It is fantastic! Holds 56 eggs. But a lot more if you take the turner out. Alarms set to preference. You can calibrate the thermostats gages and everything is auto!! Just as eggs and water!! Love it! I had a good play. Set my incubated eggs that are on day 12 today. As my other one was just too much hard work! Constantly over heated due to a broken thermostat control. So this came as a godsend. It seems to be running perfectly. Fingers crossed!! I have checked over all the temps and the humidity seems to be reading 10 % lower than it actually is. It also comes with a very good manual. Actually I have read a lot of the info in it on an American website. So I am thinking this maybe used in the states. I'm in the uk! I paid £127 posted for it. Not sure on exchange rates but probably same value out in the US. IF it stays running good I would recommend it for sure!

I just ordered myself an Rcom mini. It's completely hands free for three eggs but you can put 6 in and just hand turn them.
I got the small batch incubator so I didn't go crazy hatching a billion more chicks than I can handle.

You sure can. But just note that your better of with strong LED lights as they don't heat up like normal bulbs. And often brighter. Go for something with 3 cells of triple A type. This seems to work for me with Dark eggs and if you have any light eggs Its like looking through a glass window!!
I candeled mine before putting them in the new Bator and wow I could see the umbilical cord swinging around the top of the egg and this Chick having a good old Dance!!

Excellent one less thing I have to buy is one thing better.
Looks like my going to the out house at night flashlight is now dual purpose.

Just a quick update before I go offline and start attacking today's to do list. I am so excited I see baby chicks wiggling inside 6 eggs. Veining in another 4 and 7 Egger shells I can't see in at all. Edd 4/21-4/24. This is so cool. My first time and I'm so excited.

I'm actually starting a family run hatchery business so 6 eggs just won't work. But brilliant stuff all the same. It's honestly working a dream. I wish they advertised it when I bought the other one. As I would have not lost all my chicks.

Lol and it's a good thing I had a clear enough head to only buy the one. I'm fighting the urge to buy another after joining an egg swapping thread. MUST RESIST!!!

I want sell chicks here locally on obviously a very small scale. Alaska doesn't get much in the way of interesting breeds.

I found it on eBay and looked at all the reviews here. Most people seem to have 100% hatch rates.
My thing is where was this website when I was raising chickens years ago. I've learned so much.

ok, so I got my 1st order of eggs yeasterday Sultans and Coronation Sussex

I ordered 8 of each and got 4extra sultan eggs!!!!!

I scrubed my hands before handleing them and set them all fat end up for the night... I uped my temp to 99.8 and I am lowering my humidity to 35%
I ordered a better light to candel but it has not come yet, maybe today...

I need to candel eggs and mark air cell... and weigh them
if they have moving air cells then I need to NOT turn them for at least the first 4 days and then re-check the ones that had detached air cells, and if they do not move then I can start up the auto turn then....

BUT my other ordr of eggs was held up and is being sent to day!

that means they wont be here for two more days! I hope they dont have any detached air cells! so they can be turned with the others when it is time.... otherwise Ill have to hand turn the others for a few days..... NOT what I wanted to do....
