Got the last two turkey eggs pipping, so that's good. I had a goose egg in with them, but so far, no activity but it has a couple more days to do something
These are Bourbon Red X Narragansett chicks...hoping for toms but will take them all

In the last couple days i have just had my first batch of incubated chicks, 7 healthy and doing fine, 1 not so brilliant but getting stronger slowly. The mums were warrens and the dad was a light buff Sussex. I was thinking of getting some pedigree ones of some sort any one got any suggestions?

Dumb question. What are warrens? That is our last name and I know my DH would go nuts for them. He already thinks I am a hatchaholic, but continues to plan and build coops and runs for me.

hi warrens are a hybrid breed but i don't no what breeds make it sorry They are very similar to the lohmen brown and commonly used as commercial layers in the uk

HI, I almost tripped over myself getting to the computer.......................
Goooooood news...................
Thought I lost my hatch .day 23 and gone through humidity and temp problems.....
Had given up really.thought I would toss the eggs today...usually don't until at least day25.
OK..going through the kitchen where I had moved the incubator.................thought I heard a chirp.
Then thought, you've been alone to long Tanya, but looked anyway..
I have a beautiful Buff Orpington chick......the breed I had shipped.
Have 5 more eggs in there soooooo who knows.might get a playmate for it.................. Please for the pothers waiting.......don't give up.

Mine did not pip till day 23 and I had two pip today on day 25!!!!

First chick out. Got the little guy set up in a tub brooder in the living room for now, until some more brothers and sisters hatch, then they can go into the 4x4 brooder.
