I raised Alpine Dairy goats in 4-H when I was younger but then got into the Pygmies, so I no longer had any dairy goats.

My neighbor raises Alpines and I have been doing the disbudding and shots etc. for him and kept thinking how nice it would be to have a dairy goat again for milk. I told him one day and he said if I wanted I could have any one of his does.

A few weeks ago I went over and picked out April she is a registered Alpine and just beautiful. She is a 2 year old FF and kidded yesterday with gorgeous twins a buck and a doe they are both just stunning!

April is actually related to my very first Alpine doe, Flamming Cloves! Its kind of neat that she is out of the same stock.

Here is April with the little doeling standing in the corner and the buckling splayed out still trying to get his standing legs together. She is a great momma and they are doing perfectly.

Very cute goats. I looked at your web site and it says you also have pygmy goats. I am looking into getting two goats, not sure of what breed to get. In your opinion what breed of goats do you find to be really nice pets. I have looked at the la manchas and the ones that I saw all were very friendly. Maybe too large.

Thanks!
As far as pets I love my Pygmies! They are spoiled rotten and Pygmies as a breed have been bred for pets. They arent really good for milk or meat and have been bred for their dispositions as pets so the purebred pygmies just adore people and want to be around people. My dairy goat is sweettoo just not in the same way she is much more happy to do things on her own with the other goats and doesnt seek me out as her companion, the pygmies are always "in my face"...
