They only nip the fish's fin's and thats just some. Some have a mean personality and others just eat the crustaceans and live peacefully. If you have a really big snail population then they will eat the snails and not bother the fish.

Puffers are great fish but they do prefer brackish water and usually not in the same tank as mollies. You might want to flush out your filtering system as little snails often get caught in there and proliferate.
