Arachnophobia

I'm gonna be honest with you now. I HATE spiders. The hate is beyond anything. I see a spider and I pray to any god as long as it kills it.

Tonight my SO fell asleep on the couch and I went out for a smoke. There right above my head was a spider. And I'm not talking a baby itty bitty spider. I'm talking a freakin halloween decoration. I was already outside and it was blocking my exit inside. I waited for that THING to come down so I could walk past and go in to get the raid. I couldn't find raid so I home defensed it's butt. Finally it was hard as a rock and then I beat it to death with a fly swatter.

I'm not a bad person. I love all animals. But I hate spiders. I'm sure some people feel this way about mice or cockroaches. But to me spiders are unholy evil for some reason
Moths, spiders, mice and roaches on the odd occasion that I see them get the same treatment... the death penalty!!! I wholly agree with you and I wish my chickens would pay better attention 😂 I HATE certain creepy crawlys.🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh my.

So when I lived in England, there was this ONE type of spider I couldn't stand.
They had big bodies, and they were everywhere. On the ivy, mainly.

I hadn't got a clue what they were called, but that's them. Orb weavers! Flipping creepy things.
We used to get a few types of snake in England too, and slow worms. Slow worms were really sweet, no harm in them whatsoever.

We don't have any snakes in Ireland either.
Didnt st. Patrick drive the snakes out of Ireland? Also, what are slow worms? I'm guessing some type of snake.

I let moths live unless they are in my house because they can be a detriment to linens. Same with mice because they chew electrical wires. My home is my castle and it must be protected.

Slow worms are lizards. They have these cute little snake tongues. They're really sweet. The cats used to attack them, and I once saved a baby slow worm from my chickens.
Google them. Very snakey but absolutely harmless.

Wow. The definately look like snakes. Apparently it is illegal to kill them. I've never seen them before. Guess we dont have them in the USA. I'm interested to learn more about them. Like, how can they be considered a lizard but have no legs

Lol idk.
They were very snake-like, but they'd let you hold them no problem. They didn't have teeth, if I remember correctly. Just cute mouths with this adorable red tongue.
I've never seen them attack anything.

according to my reptile book, we have a legless lizard in this part of the country. although to me, a lizard with no legs IS a snake. as a kid we used to catch horny toads and a kind of lizard we called a mountain boomer for pets.

My father used to catch garter snakes in his garden and I wouldn't let him kill them so we set up a terrarium for them in the garage. Every once in a while "they must have escaped". My mother was terrified of snakes and wouldnt allow them on the house. My sister was scared of them too. Especially when I wrapped them around my neck to show her how harmless they were
