Araucana chicks for spring

I'm looking for true Araucana chicks to be hatched around April. This is my first year with chickens and really want true Araucana chicks. Where would be the best place to get them?

True Araucana chicks are quite hard to find. Do you mean Ameraucana. Araucana are mostly rumpless and tufted and are more of a show bird. You may be more suited with Ameraucana. They still lay blue eggs and are quite pretty. Any feed store that carries Araucana, is probably lying, and most that carry Ameraucana are probably still lying. Feed stores most likely have Amer(I)cana or Easter Eggers (rainbow layers) If you do indeed mean Araucana, you will need to do some research on breeders and be prepared to spend a bit of money!

You have been given some very good information about the breed. True Araucanas are expensive . You could put the breed name in the search box and see what comes up, or
check out them out on the Breeds forum above. I hope you will be able to find them.

I have 4 rumpless black Araucana chicks that just hatched a few days ago. I bought the eggs from Edgewood acres poultry. Out of 5 eggs : 1 scrambled, 3 saddle air sacks, 1 looked good... 21 days later 4 hatched... very pleased!
