The orange one is, shes an Aricauna-but she isn’t laying. We haven’t gotten blue eggs in a year and she is 6. The one I’m asking about came out of a pinkish egg. That hen is an Easter egger.
The roo that sired him is a mix.She is an araucana hen so I would think it would be completely auricana Since the roo is too?
Thank you! She certainly is neurotic though! She would chase shadows all day haha!I'm just commenting to say.....that is such a beautiful dog.....![]()
I’m leaning towards a rooster even though there isn’t a waddle yet
Oh I thought so! He is very dominant and runs around like he owns the place! I was hoping for another rooster because Handsome is getting ready to go into retirement. He’s the first one in the coop at night! He has a beard (feathers under the chin, where the wattles grow). Chickens with beards usually have very small wattles their entire life, so size of wattles is not very helpful when guessing gender of bearded chickens
Your bird is male, because of his saddle and hackle feathers (long narrow feathers with pointed ends--only male chickens grow feathers like that.)
Im not sure if the rooster was full. He was given to us as an adult.Do you have a full-blooded Araucana?
