Araucana stopped laying

I have an EE that's about a year and a half old. She laid for I guess 4 - 6mos and has now laid maybe three eggs this calendar year. I hate that because she was laying green eggs - my only tinted egg-layer.... Of course, my 9yr old daughter is attached so there's no getting rid of her (the chicken

Thanks all.

I'm a total "suburban" backyard chicken person. All my chickens have names, all are pets. They get buried when they die from whatever happens to them.

I've gone to extensive lengths to keep them safe from predators.

I have a 12 ft tall fence around the chicken yard, and topped five fruit trees within the yard to keep hawks out. The yard is not as pretty as it used to be before
I covered it, but after eight years suddenly the red tails and red wings began coming around. Very strange after all those years with no hawks.

I think the construction at Stanford had something to do with a change in environment that sent the hawks are way.

Anyway, since then, with the Nite Guard lights and a covered yard, my girls are very safe.

Whether they lay eggs or not, whether Edwina never lays another egg, she and they are with me for life. Could never kill a pet.

Has she begun to molt? (lose feathers) It is that time of year.

My Araucanas are extremely reliable layers, my Easter Eggers on the other hand (in case that's what you have?) not so much. I did have one girl who laid for about a week, then stopped, and honestly never laid again til the next time she finished molting.
