Araucana thread anyone?

So, of my chicks... I have the GDW cockerel, we know what he's going to look like.

I also ordered a salmon, and then the one that is peachy colored. Ann said that the peachy one is out of her project line with her cockerel Rex. So...

And here's Rex. He's the result of a BBR cock over a white hen. And she's breeding him to a SDW, and the following chick is one of the results. I wonder what she's gonna look like.

How cool that the last chick is a mystery color.

They may be a little flighty and or skittish because of the move and because they will be feathering in, but they will tame down soon enough.
Did Ann mention if she had them under heat still?

She didn't, but its much warmer and more humid down in LA than it is up here in CT. I have a brooder plate, and I figure I'll set it up. They'll use it when they want, and not when they don't. The only thing I think I'll probably message her about is to find out when they hatched. The pics look like their 2 or 3 weeks, but I want to make sure.

I almost wish they were younger. My damn flock is taking turns being broody; my EE is trying to hatch the ceramic eggs now.

:love

Trish how are the chicks doing?
They are growing like weeds!
Remember how I said I expected to lose a 4th chick? My mottled one? That little booger is still alive and kicking, even though I can see the infected remnants of its yolk sac. I believe he is 13 days old - from what I have read they never live past 10 days. I isolated him a few days ago and even though I can see his growth is stunted (compared to the others), he eats and drinks. Last night I washed his abdomen in a liquid silver supplement and have been putting the silver directly into his water. Fingers crossed he survives! :fl I call him "Donald my Mottled"!
