Araucana thread anyone?

Stacykins - I think #1 is a roo and the other seems like a pullet to me.

dkcrumly - 1,4 look like boys and 3, 5 are girls, I am on the fence about #2 the last one is a blue breasted red pullet.

Illia thank you for your help. Here are full bodies of the other four chicks. They are 5 weeks old. Do you think they are bantam Araucanas?

Another question, mostly a sale question for those who are a lot more experienced in buying and selling araucana stock. How much would you sell this black cockerel for? He is rumpless and bilaterally tufted. Though since he is young, almost five weeks, not much has gone into feed costs. I don't have enough experience to know what is fair to ask. Thanks so much for any help!

They look awefully big at a young age to be bantams. large fowl are better anyways, and still kinda small, not like my buff orpingtons haha

Color.

They aren't bantams, don't worry. When I first got Araucanas I worried of the same thing - They're a slow grower, honestly. Although they do the reverse of other slow growers, instead, they fill out THEN grow taller, longer, etc.

Chick 3 and 4 look like the only possible boys. Forgot to mention, your brown tufted one is a Gold Duckwing aka Blue Breasted Red

Thank you Lucy! These are my first Araucanas and they were hatched from shipped eggs by my bantam MF Cochin. I was told I was buying bantams but it appears I wasn't? At any rate, I'm really glad the Blue breasted red is a female because she's my favorite in disposition and coloring - plus she's the only one with noticeable tuffs!
