The "white" hens you're getting from breeding to a blue are likely splashes though. The white like the male shown in the second last photo I'm seeing only appear so because they're golden duckwings w/columbian, which makes them go very pale. My "Marango" is such, but he's the darkest of all of them I had. I wish I had good photos of the others before I culled them, but they were an ivory color like the rooster shown. Very convincing as a white carrier.
The splotchy young boy in the photo is carrying Columbian. That's the white you're seeing. It's the same as when you see splotchy white on a lot of EE roosters.
