The "white" hens you're getting from breeding to a blue are likely splashes though. The white like the male shown in the second last photo I'm seeing only appear so because they're golden duckwings w/columbian, which makes them go very pale. My "Marango" is such, but he's the darkest of all of them I had. I wish I had good photos of the others before I culled them, but they were an ivory color like the rooster shown. Very convincing as a white carrier.


The splotchy young boy in the photo is carrying Columbian. That's the white you're seeing. It's the same as when you see splotchy white on a lot of EE roosters.

No My Roo is not from Garys stock. My Blue roo ( soon to be Megans), my blue breasted red roo, my double tufted splash hen. Those are all from Garys stock. This roo is from Ann Charles who once upon a time had some red pyles that she would get crop up every once in a while.

Sorry to dissappoint Illia. Mine doesn't really look like yours and they arn't ( such a hick sounding word arn't ) related.

Yes it is a cuckoo splash pullet. It is out of one of my cuckoo hens and my white roo. I have 4 and they are all double tufted.

Well, agree to disagree. I still firmly believe your boy is a splash cuckoo.

You need to supply us with more pictures.

roysnider - Nice cockerel! Does the breeders' method actually work though? Every single breeder I've heard say that tuft size and regularity is not something you can actually breed for.

On my website I have a photo page of just him under Mr. Splash. LOL! I didn't name him, and thats what he actually comes to when you call him.

They labeled her incorrectly which happens often. This is what an araucana looks like.

Notice Araucanas do not have a tail. They also have tufts on their cheeks, not muffs and a beard like your girl does. If you go to my website I have lots of pics and info on the Araucana.
