Araucana thread anyone?

Cindy,

Is the one in question a lt. blue with darker blue splotches or is she a splash. Her behind is beautiful. Good job.

Hi All,

Here is hoping you all have a lovely long weekend. It is going to be rainy, windy, and nasty weathered here, but the birds are tucked in. I have baby chicks in the house and more to hatch next week. ( I know, I know, I said I was done for the winter). The hens sorta started laying again and the blue eggs were sitting on the counter staring at me. When ever I cook ( all the time) I automatically reach for the non blue eggs to use. My brain just won't let me give up on any possible little araucana chicklets. Since all my eggs are stored on the counter anyway instead of the fridge, it made it easier to pop them in the incubator. I have 3 running constantly, you know, just in case, every hen on my farm decides to start shooting out eggs. LOL! Right now I have 7 that look to possibly hatch next week. My poor husband just sighs loudly every time the chicks peep.

I miss hearing from you all.

She does look lt blue and splash at the same time. She is beautiful. Its a real testament to your breeding program that you had such nice birds to ship.

they are really beautiful some of my friends who saw the araucanas likes the tufted birds and some thinks the light blue is very cute. Actually all of them are gorgeous. Thanks Cynthia!

The male's tufts don't look very even in the picture but they were perfectly balanced. Perhaps he got a bit roughed up in transport. If so, they'll come back in nicely.
