Araucana thread anyone?

Awesome. What colors are you using, parent-wise?

I started out with all black for the first 3 generations, then I added a BBR araucana roo I had sitting around because he is so big. I wanted to get some nice size in there. He is now happily in my bbr pen with some tufted rumpless araucana hens.

This year I have all black hens in with a tufted not quite duckwing roo that I hadn't sold. I am getting getting black chicks and chipmonk chicks. I think I eventually want to go with a solid black bird but for now am not too worried about color, it the goofy looks I am going for. I am getting nice egg color which is good also.

As to the chick - Looks like a silver or golden to me. Straight up pure golds are usually a more deep orangey color, at least, mine are. That chick's got a pretty short back though.

I don't see a pic. If you got them from a feedstore or hatchery, no. If you got them off craigslist or some local breeder, likely not but who knows.

Do they have a tail? Fluffy beard?

Yes for the crested blue eggers. White crested polish roo over black ameraucana hen, then siblings to siblings all black, then rumpless black araucana roo to black pullets ( didn't get any rumpless for some reason - then roo died),then black breasted roo over black hens ( got 50% rumpless but all of them are chipmonk so havn't kept any), now tufted duckwing rumpless roo for this generation over black crested bearded and muffed hens.
