This is my little Araucana chick that hatched last week. It has a tuft on each side. The white tuft on the right is larger than the black tuft on the left. It is rumpless, too. Last summer I bought some Araucana chicks, and one of them looked a lot like this one. That one turned out to be a solid black pullet. No white at all on her now. So I'm wondering if that is common for chicks to have white when hatched but end up being solid black later. Are the splotchy legs on this one a negative? I need to read more about the SOP for Araucanas.
