Araucana thread anyone?

Spent some time in the yard yesterday and took some photos...
This is my first barred chick from this second generation. He is 5 weeks old now. He appears to have nice barring, but you can see that his primary feathers are almost all black. That will change as he matures if he makes the cut.

This next sibling has barring on the primaries as well. It is in the ugly stage but I have high expectations for this one. It is to early to tell if male or female.

I have several more black barred chicks and some of these blue barred. The blue gene makes it harder to evaluate the barring. Should make a pretty araucana though.

Holy tufts! So I just finished a small hatch of 11 eggs, from my own girls before 3 out of 4 went broody. Eight managed to hatch (since my small flock is tufted x tufted this makes sense that there were some dead in shells), and SEVEN of those eight are tufted!

These are going to be a foundation flock for a woman in lower Michigan. She's been trying and trying to hatch shipped eggs with no luck. So, I offered her all the Araucana chicks from this hatch and the one due next week (10 eggs). I definitely won't renege on that offer, but wow, what amazing hatch!

I have some older chicks, around 8-10 weeks that I would like to find homes for. Most are cuckoo, a few duckwing cockerals. All are rumpless. There are a some that are tufted, a couple bilaterally, but not large tufts.

It's just that I have lots of cuckoos already and am trying to concentrate on improving my black, blue and duckwing.

I live in Norton, Ohio 44203. I really don't wish to ship, but if you want to purchase the shipping box and have it sent to my house, I'd ship.

Anyone here live in Ohio and would like a nice starter flock in cuckoo?

P.M. me.

What color am i looking at with this guy, I mistaked him as a buff when i grabbed everyone out of the incubator to move them to the brooder. deffinately an araucana thoug, rumpless to boot!

feathering in colored though

Also quite happy that i've finally hatched a solid blue that is rumpless( I couldn't expect tufts but i've got a promising black tailed with tufts to try it with for next year)

It looks like a splash or a cuckoo.

Hey bay area people!

We have a couple young pullets that are in need of homes :) some leghorn pullets, and some barred rock pullets, and some blue egger pullets. Contact me for details need to thin out the grow out pens.

I have (3) 6 week old cuckoo rumpless Araucana chicks I want to find a local only home for. They are from coberdor's eggs and they are darling! 2 are cleanfaced and one has one pretty big tuft. I am in Southeastern, MA near Fall River and New Bedford. (I also have 2 Speckled Sussex and a Coronation Sussex of the same age, if that makes it worth someone's trip!) I just saw that she is finding a home for some of her chicks, too. I HIGHLY recommend them if you can get some. :)

Fluffy picspam time!
