Araucana thread anyone?

That’s better than nothing and would prove that he knows you. Is there any part of his body that would distinguish him from another White Araucana? Something only you would know.

I have pics of his comb, which I think would be the only distinction between another pea comb. What’s the likelihood of the same exact pattern of wrinkles?

Yes. I have to figure out how to do it on my outer gate, but the inner one will be easy.

I have a german shepherd girl and I am going to get a geman shepherd boy as well. that is much better than any locks. I already have 2 terrier mixes and I will get at least 1 jack russel terrier for rats, mice, etc. and for barking and running fast as well. together with geese it is going to be a noisy place in case someone tries to come near.

I have an awesome terrier, who's the best alarm dog I've had in a long time. Problem was, my rooster was taken when nobody was home. My husband and I were at work and my kids were at school.

@Trish1974 how is Bonita doing?
I'm not real sure...:(
She has been in a crate in my utility room since Sunday evening. She definitely has a reproductive issue. She has no abdominal swelling like with internal laying, but did have some puffiness around the diameter of her vent. I soaked her in a warm tub of epsom salts for 20 minutes Sunday evening. Shortly after I dried her and returned her to the crate she expelled egg matter. It looked as if you cracked an egg into a bowl and gave it a quick stir with a fork. She did not eat anything on Sunday but drank on her own.
Last night when I got home from work it looked like she hadn't eaten anything, but she had formed poops that were green, so she must have eaten a little. She did take some mealworms out of my hand but would not eat her scrambled eggs. This morning, she drank heartily, but wouldn't eat for me. I spoke to my boyfriend an hour ago and he said he saw her eating. I will update again this evening once I am home to look her over. Thank you for asking.

So it the egg she expelled looked as if it had broken inside of her? Maybe she got spooked and that’s how the egg cracked. Check her vent to make sure there isn’t any shell bits irritating her.
I sure hope she recovers soon :fl

I wondered that too, but never saw any bits of shell anywhere. What is really weird is this all started after she laid a normal egg. :idunno It will break my heart if something happens to her. I lost my Buff Orp to internal laying a year and a half ago (of course she was my favorite)...so reproductive issues make me really nervous.

Bonita seems to be doing a little better. No swelling in abdomen or around vent. She did eat a little bit of her layer feed with mealworms. Not much, but its better than nothing. She has drank a lot of water (with Nutridrench) the past couple days. Her color is good, and she throws a fit every evening at roost time; like she is crying to go to the coop. I don't know if I should put her back out tomorrow if she is eating better, or wait until she lays an egg?
