Araucana thread anyone?

I think I will. Its not looking too good for hatching eggs from Bonita. Since she had her "episode" of laying issues awhile back she has been laying misshapen eggs. Every egg for the past 3 weeks has been shaped like a kidney bean. :hmm

I really really really don’t want to make a Facebook account.

don't!
Anyone know how size of offspring works when crossing bantam to large fowl? I'm considering hatching some of Lil Girl's eggs (she's the bantam). She is in with Manolito (LF). There is a considerable size difference, but he is fertilizing her eggs and doesn't seem to be hurting her. I'm wondering if I could breed up from the offspring, eventually breeding out the bantam? Or would the size of her egg keep the chick small?

from what I have read hens are more responsible for shape and size but roos contribute as well.

unfortunatelly those eggs are not good for hatching.
Yeah, that really bums me out. :( She has great body shape like her mom and a HUGE flower shaped tuft on the right side of her face. This morning there was a soft shelled egg on the floor of the coop underneath her. She has the strangest laying issues, and it all started when she had a noticeable injury on her head.
Did I mention I am STILL waiting on the cuckoo hatching eggs? :rant

I had hens with injury followed by laying issues. they fixed it after a while. :fl

I would set some eggs and see how the offspring look.
I don't think I will set any with my first batch. I had a dream last night I incubated the banty eggs and ended up with more chicks than I had room for. In my dream I was in the chicken run and there were little black banty Araucanas EVERYWHERE; I couldn't even walk! It was like I was in a mine field! :lau
