How many eggs did you order from willow acres?

Well... I ordered a dozen cuckoo eggs. Three weeks later when I still didn't have my eggs I told her to fill the order with whatever (BBS,black, duckwing) to get them sent out. I ended up with only 5 cuckoo eggs , 10 BBS, and 3 that were not marked. When I asked about the ones that weren't marked, she said they were either BBS or cuckoo. So far I removed 3 BBS eggs that were duds, and there are 3 more that are questionable.

I'm giving mine a few more days and then whatever is there, I'm throwing out. Nothing else has hatched, no pips nothing. Sigh.

Yea, I guess I'm good with chicks, but maybe incubating isn't my thing. Or I just chose the wrong momma.
AND... I need to get a broody box.

about 3 years ago an old man I met in a feed store said that there were years bad for hatching. it seems this year is bad as a few of my friends with huge incubators had bad luck as well as I and a few others had bad luck with broodies too.

Well, that makes me feel moderately better, even if I've had three unsuccessful goes so far.

I got some new birds today!!!
A few weeks ago I emailed Nancy Utterback just to let her know how my chickens from her were doing, and what I was doing with my breeding program. She emailed me back and said she was selling the rest of her large fowl Araucanas and was just going to keep bantams, and asked if I would be interested! So I financed this 8'x12' coop

(probably not smart but I could not pass up the opportunity to buy the last of Nancy Utterback's stock!) and picked them up today. I got 7 hens (1 blue clean faced and one double tufted hen), one clean faced BBR, two clean faced black hens and two double tufted black hens.

Also got a MAGNIFICENT double tufted blue cock. Both my boyfriend and I fell in love with him last year when we picked up the hen and chicks. Him and the double tufted blue hen were Nancy's grandson's show birds. They won Grand Champion breeding pair at the fair last year.

And are you ready for this? I got her ultra rare TRIPLE TUFTED cock!!! Whom I also fell in love with last year when I was there. The third tuft is under his chin:
