Araucana thread anyone?

I got some new birds today!!! :wee
A few weeks ago I emailed Nancy Utterback just to let her know how my chickens from her were doing, and what I was doing with my breeding program. She emailed me back and said she was selling the rest of her large fowl Araucanas and was just going to keep bantams, and asked if I would be interested! So I financed this 8'x12' coopView attachment 1779582 (probably not smart but I could not pass up the opportunity to buy the last of Nancy Utterback's stock!) and picked them up today. I got 7 hens (1 blue clean faced and one double tufted hen), one clean faced BBR, two clean faced black hens and two double tufted black hens.

Also got a MAGNIFICENT double tufted blue cock. Both my boyfriend and I fell in love with him last year when we picked up the hen and chicks. Him and the double tufted blue hen were Nancy's grandson's show birds. They won Grand Champion breeding pair at the fair last year.

And are you ready for this? I got her ultra rare TRIPLE TUFTED cock!!! Whom I also fell in love with last year when I was there. The third tuft is under his chin:

I'll post better pics when everyone is settled in. Thank you @Brahma Chicken5000 for keeping my secret!
:love
They’re lovely! Love the triple tufted cock!

Last night was not a good night with my hatching eggs.
I looked in on Bonita yesterday morning, and saw a half broken egg shell next to her. I decided to wait until dark and take her off the nest to clean up the mess and see what was going on under her. Well later in the afternoon I saw her out dust bathing, so I looked at her nest and she must have eaten all the broken egg material, BUT all the other eggs were coated with dried egg gunk. I candled them last night. Out of 7, only two looked alive.
I also locked down the incubator eggs last night. The air cells are still way too small for 18 days. I'm worried they won't hatch. Its been so rainy and humid here it has been impossible to control humidity.

Hopefully you will get a few chicks this from these eggs. :fl
Have you named any of the new flock?
The big blue cock is "Blue". I was calling him that before he was even mine! LOL
There is an OLD double tufted black hen who was one of Nancy's show birds. That poor girl has to be older than Methuselah. She has an eye injury to where it is closed most the time, her face is pale, she's missing the tip of one of her toes, she's kind of "ratchet". So I've been calling her Ratchet! LOL Sweet as pie though! You can slip your hand under her belly and she just drops into your hand. She laid an egg yesterday too!
The triple tufted cock...well I hate to say it.... but I do NOT like him! He is skittish, loud, hyper, etc. He acts like I'm going to kill him just trying to refill his food and water. As soon as I touch his cage door he starts flailing around, squawking, and climbing over and on the hens he is in with trying to get out. This morning he was just a little bit more calm...but if he doesn't settle down more I may ask Nancy if she wants him back. I won't name him until I'm sure he's staying. I fought long and hard to get him so I'm going to feel pretty stupid if I ask her to take him back!

So far that is it. I'm toying with the name "Lucy" for the BBR. It just comes to mind when I look at her.

Can you post more pictures of them?
I can't get any good pics. Its cloudy and my phone sucks. It wants to zoom in on the bars of the cage and not the chickens.
I'm worried I won't get the coop divided today. The hardware store doesn't open until 11:00 and severe storms are supposed to kick in around noon. The chickens are used to being in cages, but I AM the one who is not used to chickens being in cages. Hopefully it bothers me more than it bothers them.
