Araucana thread anyone?

So question,

Once my babies are hatched, and delivered, I'll have 2 roosters. If I have them separate in different flocks will they crow at each other all day? Should I rehome my current roo, so there won't be any issues?

Araucana males are VERY gentle and calm. So far, in my limited experience, if the males are hatched and raised together, they can stay together. But if you are wanting to separate them for breeding purposes... I wouldn't say they crow all day, but if one of mine starts, you can bet the next three will have their say too! But I love crowing, so it doesn't bother me.

Well my other one is 16 ish weeks now, so they won't be raised together. I also won't want my EE roo to breed with the Araucana, since I want to keep them a pure breed. Whatever comes out of my EE roo will be likely a meat bird. I won't need to keep that many Chickens to lay eggs. I don't plan to sell eggs for food either.

Mornin'! How are the little ones doing?
I'm getting worried about @Brahma Chicken5000. Aryeh, where are you my friend??
Sorry I totally forgot to tell you guys that I wouldn’t be on until tonight because of a Jewish holiday.
Oh NO!!! The lady in town I had been getting my araucana from (its who I'd bought Napoleon, my araucana pullet and her ee sister) a raccoon got her whole flock!!! :hit:hit
Oh no! That’s just awful!

at the beginning of my chicken adventure I had 1 roo only who kept crowing 24 hours a day, lol. you can try to keep both of them and if they get too noisy you can always rehome unless you don't eat soup.

Thank you for thinking of me. I’ll make sure to let you guys know if I’ll be offline because of a holiday in the future. :hugs

LOL I'm glad you're ok. I should have realized. I was raised crazy. LOL My mother's Catholic (previously Protestant), my father was Atheist (but not 'in your face Atheist) and my step-mom is Jewish. Religiously I'm all over the place. LOL

Amazing though, my calendar only says its the Queen's birthday. Nothing else. Course, it has all the Christian holidays. Sigh...
