Araucana thread anyone?

My Japanese Bantam mix hen went broody this summer so I bought 4 fertile Rhode Island Red hatching eggs for her to incubate. 2 hatched, a cockerel and a pullet.
Oh, I didn't know you had chicks this summer. Congrats! How is his temperament? My mom always kept a flock of WL and RIRs, and the RIRs were the MEANEST roosters! If I wasn't paying attention they'd get me cornered and flog the heck out of me!

The cockerel seems to have a good temperament. I don’t much care for the pullet. She pecks her mother which I have never seen a broody raised chick do.

Just a few random pics...

The cock flock hanging out on top of their coop:

Would you believe these two are full brothers (white and golden duckwing)?!:

"Can you come back some other time to clean our coop? I'm frickin' freezing Ma, and I don't want to go out there!"

Well Loves, this last order from Ann... I ordered a cockerel, a pullet and a straight run. We know that the 'pullet' is a cockerel.... well, so is the straight run. 'S'he finally popped out the saddle feathers. I have three cockerels now... for 5 hens and one pullet. SIGH. I couldn't see them very well, and at first had written them off as dirty and/or broken feathers.

How old? Maybe offer to trade 1 or 2 of the cockerels for a pullet or three.
