Araucana thread anyone?

Wanted to share a pic of my girl Luna bean who has started being broody already. I can not believe how flat she can make herself.

I am curious what color my rooster is. I believe Illia said he is a blue with gold leakage. I plan on using him with my blue silver duckwing. Is this a good choice? Would it be better to just use him over my blue girl? I plan on using him over both. He is the only boy I have so far. He is a great flock rooster and I will use him for my olive-egger project.

OMG!!! A headless cockerel !!!

Looks to me like birchen with lots of melanizers......I'm just guessing while waiting for someone who knows to answer. I guess this because he is so similar to my rooster Degas and his son Rodin but doesn't have the chest lacing you would expect for the birchen which made me think he had extra melanizers to cover up the chest lacing. Was one of his parents black? I'd bet he would be good to use in a blacks and blues pen for more blacks and blues.

Lovely birds though and great condition.

I'm getting more eggs than I can incubate right now. I will be offering hatching eggs on the skybkueggs site today. Will ship Tuesday. They will be from my white pen that also has some blue hens and my black pen.

My girls are doing great Ish! At least two of the three are laying now. I cracked one open the other day and it was fertile! Too funny. The shamo has been busy.​

I have been having horrible hatch rates lately and am worried that it is these incubators I am using. The last chick to hatch here was two weeks ago. Last week nothing hatched even though all the chicks were fully developed and the yolk sacs mostly absorbed. So Frustrating.

So far today though I have 1 pipped chick and two that are chirping at me so here is hoping that these 3 hatch. I think they are the last chicks from my dead duckwing roo.

Super eggcited to show you my very first Araucana eggs!! They are 26 weeks old so I wasn't really expecting them to lay for awhile. I'm a proud mama as they are from the first clutch my broody Cochin hatched for me
