Araucana thread anyone?

LOL! That's pretty much the whole peninsula. :) Giggle!! I'm in Sterling, near Soldotna. :)

My great uncle Bill lives on the Kenai peninsula. I can't remember where exactly. Somewhere between Seward and Homer if I remember correctly and don't have my geography off. LOL!

Well at least I wasn't way off. LOL! I just checked and he lives in Homer. I thought he lived in a little town that started with an S but he doesn't.

I just have to giggle and ask, isn't the entire state of Alaska a peninsula?

Lanae, would you Cull a Double Tufted Araucana that looks like it is going to a Great Big Tail sticking up? Will try to get a picture of it to post on here later.

Hi Greg,

Depends on if it is a roo or a hen and the color of it. Once I see a pic I can let you know what I think. Pretty much though if you have enough better birds that you wont miss it then yes I would sell it, because it will just give you tails later.

I have decided to sell off some of my araucana chicks between 1 day and 6 weeks of age. I have 5 or 6 tufted and rumpless chicks and between 5 and 10 cleanfaced and rumpless. They will be for local pickup only.

The tufted rumpless are $35.00 ea straight run. The cleanfaced and rumpless are $15.00 straight run.

The colors of the tufted rumpless colors available are recessive white, black, and splash.
The colors of the cleanfaced and rumpless are recessive white, black, blue, splash, and wheaten.

I know a few of us on here are in Northern CA and am posting this here if anyone is interested.

I was running around and feeding chicks today and noticed that I have 45 chicks that hatched last weekend ( some of them blue eggers), I have about 75 chicks between 1 week and 6 weeks ( some of them blue eggers), and I have more hatching right now. I am over run with chicks and seriously need to keep only the colors I am going to work on.

Thank You Amy,

You know you can always come up and get some. Come up with Tom when he's up here in Willits for the weekend working on your place. You know you want to.
