Araucana thread anyone?

I just got my new chicks today. First timer since I was a kid. 4 of my chicks are supposed to be Araucana, but since I am new to the chicken world I'm not sure. Their coloring is like a chipmonk. Different shades of brown with stripes. They are only a week old. I have them in a plastic tub in the kitchen at the moment, though I don't know how long I can have them there as the kitchen is a bit small. I'll post some photos in a bit. Can someone take a look and tell me if they are what I think I bought?
Thanks in advance,
Deb

Took a few picks to share.
This is my first barred chick now a few weeks older. Very much a boy.

This is a new chick that is tufted, rumpless and barred! Now if if only a she...

This is a blue tufted rumpless.

And this one I assume is blue as well...not sure?

I am finally getting descent hatches. I now have a dozen new chicks and ten more to hatch in 2 days. I have three black barred out of 17 total chicks. Only one appears to be tufted so still have some hatching to do!

One more. Look at the crazy tuft on this one. It is at least an inch long!!!

Lanae,
I'm not bothered at all by tails or partial tails. What colors are the tailed pullets?
Cathy
Hi Cathy, I have a couple that are wild type bbr colored and might have more but waiting for the blue eggers to get their crests so it is easier to tell them apart. Most of my blue eggers have wonderful tufts and tails. When you have a pen with about 75 chicks running around its hard to see leg bands but easy to see tufts.

Those are mutts called "Easter Eggers" commonly sold under false claim as Araucanas by feedstores and hatcheries, but in fact, hatcheries/feedstores never have real purebred Araucanas. Araucanas do come in those colors, but don't have fluffy bearded faces nor do they have tails. Well, some do, but it is preferred and in most occasion that they do not.

Still, cute chicks! There's a perfect thread for those called the "EE Braggers Thread"
