Finally my hatch is finished, I think. There were only two Araucana's that hatched out of the 22 eggs that Coberdor sent to me, which was disappointing. US Mail being at fault, but what can you do? Here are their photos less than an hour ago. They are a little over a day old. The first two photos are of chick #1, and the second two are of chick #2. As you can see, it's "hair" is pasted down and makes the feathers around the head and to the rear look like it has tufts, but I don't think so. I set 8 of my own eggs (mixed assortment) at the same time, just in case the Araucanas was a small hatch, so there are 7 chicks total. They have good company.

how early can BBR/duckwing/wildtype chicks be sexed? I'd like to start pulling out excess roos asap lol. any tips? I can post some photos too.

Sorry for your disappointing hatch. I have 36 Araucana eggs from Coberdor in my incubator due to hatch by May 30. I hope I do better. I haven't been able to see much through candling them as the shells are too dark. Were you able to see anything in them when you candled them?

The nine duck eggs I set at the same time have veins and spots. Hopefully I'll have some baby ducklings too.

The chicks that you hatched are very cute. Congratulations, Mom.
