I'm new to this breed & need help. The rooster & hens are 'rumpless' but this little guy has tail feathers. Is this normal at this stage or is this little guy something totally different?

I tried to find the thread where a member familiar with this breed said it isn't unusual for Araucana chicks to have tails. He went on to say as the chick matures the 'tail' bends inward towards the rump making it appear tail-less.

Below is a photo of the breeding stock.

Breeding stock aren't Araucanas so I'd say your chick isn't either. They are rumples like Araucanas should be. But Araucanas are tufted. These birds are bearded and muffed which is a disqualification for the US standard.

Based on this one... I’d say these birds aren’t rumpless, but have been plucked perhaps? I dunno. :idunno

I bet your right. I bet they are Easter Eggers with their tails plucked. Hens are common patterns for Easter Eggers. I'd like to see more pics of the breeding stock.
