Araucanas vs. Americans

Well first of all, Ameraucana's have beards and muffs, and tail feathers. And Araucana's have tufts, and are rumpless: (copy and pasted)

Edited to add: Sometimes EE's will have pink shanks, and sometimes unknown color pattern.

IF MY AMERICANA ROOSTER IS WHEATON AND SO ARE THE HENS WILL ALL OFFSPRINGS BE WHEATON

Americanas are Easter Eggers.
Ameraucanas are a different breed, are bred to a standard & are available in both large fowl & bantam.

Just curious, did mean to spell "Americanas" as Ameraucanas? Because I know that you last line is true, but yes, most of the time these days so called (hatchery) Ameraucanas are actually EE's.

Thanks for enlightening me, I had no idea hatchery Americanas are actually Easter Eggers. Oh wait. I did know that which is why I made the distinction in spelling. Many of the hatcheries use the Americana spelling for their blue/green egg layers.
You're in your 7th year of 4H, I'm in my 52nd year of breeding show birds. Assume I may know almost as much as you do.

Yes, yes, I'm still learning, I don't buy from hatcheries anymore, so I don't stay updated on what they called their birds. Thanks

Here are a few more pictures showing what an Araucana is, like the rumplessness

Rumpless cuckoo hen, she also has tufts, albeit tiny ones

Ok, so I'm thinking the Araucana's (sorry if I spelled that wrong) are probaby going to turn out to be EE's. Doesn't really matter to me because we didn't buy them as show chickens, just egg layers. Now I'm curious though!! When would the tufts show up if they are going to have them?? They are approx 5weeks old now, so I'm thinking it could be a while? They also have blue (not green) legs. Coloring is like a hawk. If I can get them to sit still, I will try to add a pic or two at a later date.
