Arduino controlled coop door help requested

That looks like it would work, but it's dependent on two, manually operated switches. That's fine if you're merely looking for an electric door.
The two switches are called limit switches. One goes at the top, and the other at the bottom; they are to stop the motor when the door is fully open or fully closed.

correct, they are limit switches. I will still have to wait for the motors to do a little trial and error.

Could this be done with DPST relays as well?

I'm experiencing some computer issues and my project is temporarily on hold. Thanks for all the input- I'll get back to you all as soon as I am able.
