Are all Cochins so gentle?

i have a few cochins and have had cochins in the past . the cochins i have now are lemon blue or so ive been told . the roo is funny when i put my hand in the pen he will drag a wing like he is flirting then he will peck my hand . by then he is close enough to pick up and when i do he settles right down and seems to enjoy the attention. they all seem to be very loving ,and want you to be around

I have a barred rock bantam cochin, I think. She is so adorable. Her name is Chikkie, and is my first ever chicken. She is now ten months old and has yet to lay. All my other girls are laying, any suggestions? Do these smaller birds take longer to lay?

I got my first Cochins, a pair, at a swap last fall. I just hatched my first chick from them, and this baby is super sweet from the get-go. The other chicks (Ameraucanas) in the brooder scatter when they see someone coming; the Cochin, at one day old, is sweet and mellow and loves to sit on my hand. Amazing how different they are from day one.

I have noticed hatchery cochins seem to take longer then ones i have hatched out here. the ones i hatch from my flock they begin to lay at 5 - 6 months old but ones i have ordered from hatcheries take awhile longer

Yep! All of ours have been so tame. I remember being afraid that they were sick because they were too relaxed and quiet

Sadly our first one died unexpectedly and our second one dissapeared a few weeks ago. I think the reason she got taken was because she was to relaxed

But we still have one, a soon to be rooster =/ I am so in love with him. My mom takes him to the nursing home to visit the residents and to church to visit the kids

He loves it! He rides along in the car looking around

He is a bantam and still fits in the palm of your hand at nine weeks. He's just a pile of feathers, I don't know how much bird is actually underneath

She looks like she is really staring someone down in the last one.

Well my cochins hatched and I have to tell you they are the cutest, sweetest little things!! Out of 8 eggs that I got, 3 hatched but they're perfect! Absolutely perfect.

I now know that I'll definitely be investing in more of them! The day I took them out of the incubator, I decided to brood them in an old cat carrier that I had made for my baby parrots. So they're in the living room with us and getting all kinds of attention.

Can you say spoiled??
