I love my Africans. I've only had one male who was a problem (actually more of a pest to other animals than me) and I've had one female who refused to acknowledge boundaries. She would grab and pull on clothes to get attention and if you still didn't do what she wanted, she would bite. She's the little goose in my avatar chattering away at me.
I agree that the females tend to stay less aggressive on the whole. I have one who's an absolute sweetie and loves to be petted. She would spend more time being cuddled but her mate wants me to keep my hands off his girl.
A goose hand-raised with your ducks would likely be very tame and sweet.
