I have a 21/21 week old Ameracauna pair.. true ameras.. My roo has a nice red comb and has had since 8 weeks.. but he has never ever tried to court a hen, mount a hen or even crow.. My pullet of the same age still has a lighter pink comb then all of my 14 week old pullets of different breeds.. so I have come to the conclusion.. they are really late bloomers

I know this thread is beyond geriatric, but just in case anyone does a search and is curious, I'll add my two cents. I have an Easter Egger from My Pet Chicken who hatched on March 12th, and two Ameraucanas from the feed store who hatched on March 20th. I got my first perfect little turquoise egg July 28th. Since then, I've gotten four more of the same color, and just today, August 5th, I got my first little blue-ish egg, so it looks like two out of the three are laying.

Here is a picture of the first little greenish-blue egg:

And here's the picture of the more blue colored egg, alongside a greenish one from (I think) the original tinted layer:

The colors are washed out in the picture, unfortunately, but either way, its a delight to open up that nest door and find the prize you've been waiting for. Hang in there!
