I got these cuties last week and read that females are supposed to be darker and have that black wash on their feet. I was just wondering if there’s any truth to that?

I seem to remember @nuthatched stating that males have a mullet and females have toupee . . . it seems to me you have one of each.
Oh man I hope not 😔 I would love a roosters but they aren’t allowed here. I’ll just keep an eye on them. By a few weeks I’ll know by looking at their combs.

I don't think they're as sexable at hatch as people think.
There is some truth to the wash on the legs. The barring gene removes some of it and since males have 2 copies of barring they in theory should have a lot less wash.
There's also some truth about the size of the headspot. Problem is is that there's many that are obvious as one sex or the other but still too many that fall in the middle which makes it all a little unreliable.
I knew someone that raised and showed them and he told me he could sex them with about 80% accuracy so.....

Still pretty high! They are all passing the wing test so far, but I guess I won’t really know until near the end of the month. It’s funny because I didn’t even plan on getting these.

Oh no, not the wing test.
