Are Big Black the same as Jersey Giants?

I am wondering about my supposed JGiant Maggie. I have seen pics of them and she doesn't look the same so I am asking for an opinion. What is she? Thanks Laura

I don't know, and I'm hesitant to guys since someone will probably correct me

but have you gone to www.feathersite.com? Another breed that is supposed to look similar to the JG is the Australorps. I guess you can tell by the bottoms of their feet? I think it tells you over on feathersite.

Pretty though! Love the green sheen on her feathers.

Thanks for the reply. Maggie does have yellow feet like a JG But the lack of tail feathers has me stumped. I saw some pullets at our county fair this fall that looked like Maggie and on the cage it said Big Blacks so I was curious.

She could be, I got her at the Feed store here as an Australorp and I now know that she is not that either, but I love her and she is my very big baby.

When I first read this, I looked at my pics and realized I didn't have any good side shots of mine, so I went out and took a few.
In your pics Maggie does look like mine, but you can judge for yourself.

Mine don't have what I would call long tail feathers, and one of them seems to hold her tail feathers down while the other seems to hold hers up at an angle.
BTW, the pics are of 2 different pullets.
