are Buff Orps reasonable dual-purpose?

We did BO straight run this year as well as Speckled Sussex. Neither of us like breast meat much. It was a good thing! Their breasts were scrawny, BUT they had really big legs and tasted great. They plucked really easily as opposed to the Speckeled Sussex who took a while to pluck. They were also quite a bit bigger than the Speckled Sussex. We really like the BO and are getting more this spring. They lay great, very nice personality generally, and I think they are a true dual purpose bird. We are going to try a few other breeds for the same purpose but I think BO might still hit the top of the list for us. Good luck figuring out what you want to do, we recommend them though.
