Are Button Quails Good Pets?

I'd love a pet quail! I've looked at loads of websites and most say that Japanese/Cortunix are the most friendly and easy to tame, but they are bigger and require more space than Buttons (I also just prefer Buttons - they really are adorable!), and it's really important that I can catch the Buttons easily and cuddle them without them (or me!) being distressed.
Another question - does anyone know how many quails I'd need to keep? Websites I've looked on say that one male and 4-8 females is best, but that seems like a lot of quails... could I just have one or two?
Thanks,
Katie

as a general rule buttons are not the type of "pet" to be held or "loved on". They are shy and very nervous jumping up and bonking their heads as they do. they also lose feathers every time you catch them. I do not think they make great pets if you want to hold them and "pet" them. Also please keep them in single pair's one male one female to a cage. Inside too as they prefer 65-72 F temps. fun to watch though :)
