Are chicken collars good?

Good question (s)! A letter, by the law department, yay! It was on our property but very slightly, im sure they knew they were on our property... I was sitting holding Snooze actually, and then I see a deer randomly sprint, so I look and I see a guy (neighbor) with his phone out looking right at me.... Scary ahh! Insted of a fence were making a "wall" of fire wood. Most of our property is fenced it except for the part with the neighbors, just great!
So you received an official letter, like a nuisance letter? It was mailed or hand delivered by LE?

LOL Of course there's a spot where they can come around and see.
Most of my "neighbors" are family - they don't live right on top of me, but I still have put fabric privacy screening along the fence in certain areas to obstruct views. Works well and has held up nicely.

When you say, you neighbours hate chickens, do you know why they hate chickens? Is your coop too close to their bedrooms that prevent them from having good sleep in the early morning? Is it the smell? The poop that attract flies or food that entice mice?

If it's the sound, do you know whether it's all day or just certain time of the day?

If it's reasonable request, like your chicken keeping has lead to detrimental effects of your neighbours lives, then you need to minimise/eliminate those effects. It's best to communicate with the said neighbours or whoever told you so, and find out which part of your chicken keeping bothers them. But if your neighbours have been unreasonable, like your chickens have lower their property values and make the area less prestige, then I would say tough luck to them. Sometimes, if you give unreasonable people an inch, they'll take a mile.

No clue, the coop is all the way on the other side of the property, they are the furthest from it. I dont think its the smell or the flys as we pick up there poop lol, and have fly catchers out.

I think its just when they feel like it..

It probably is that there property value went down. Now thinking about it, one of my other neighbors has chickens that free range by the road, and no one cares... idk why!

Personally, I would have taken a picture of the guy standing on my property with his phone taking pictures and had him charged for trespassing, stalking and harassment. Then again I am one of those people who is very easy going until you decide you are going to play games. Then it’s a “You want to play this game? Then you better buckle up buttercup”. Especially if it is legal to own chickens and there is no noise ordinance. I would also be checking all of the laws in this one because you may have been served a legal notice, but after living in many small towns I can tell you that if someone has a friend at the courthouse they often will circumvent the proper channels to get their own way and do not stop unless someone calls their bluff.

I would have taken a picture, but I did not have my phone on me. Now looking back I wish I said something to him when he was there. Maybe that could have changed things... I have read the law before and it says I can have hens, but no roosters, if free ranging someone must be with them. Thats all.

If that is the case then the legal notice sounds very very fishy at best.
