Are chickens afraid of thunderstorms

I'm sure not all of them are, but being social creatures, when a few get startled by it sometimes they will all start to get fearful. Mine are just chicks, and they ran around like a psycho was chasing them with a knife when they heard thunder (although the orpington and sussex seemed a little confused about what they needed to be running from)... I'm sure more noise-accustomed chickens would shrug some thunder off if the storm doesn't get too hairy. I also hear some chickens actually like the rain. So it all depends on the chickens themselves.
