I think it's fascinating that they are able to back track this salmonella strain to specific hatcheries to try to "nip it in the bud". If you think you might have come in contact with feces from any animal; wash your hands. My hens eat poo, so does my dog. I know that a lot of carnival petting zoos had to be ended because of people getting sick from animals. I wish I had bought stock in hand sanitizers because we go through a lot of it! I keep a bottle in the coop in the supply closet.
