Crickets are a great snack for you birds and they are healthy - they have a lot of protein in them and I are fresh!

All chickens are great insect catchers and many people put them to good use to help control garden and farm pests.

The only problem with eating the crickets might be if you have sprayed insecticide on your garden and the crickets might be contaminated with it - so don't use bug spray - use you environmentally friendly chickens instead!

Bantams are supposed to be the best insect eaters. My Old English Game bantams are phenomenal bug catchers. When I'm out in the pasture and a black fly is circling my head, I set a bantie on my shoulder and they always seem to catch it! I've also seen them pluck a mosquito out of midair. There's a board by the coop that always has lots of crickets under it. Whenever I flip it over, my OEGb hen will run under and go after those crickets like she's playing Whack-a-Mole. IMO they're better than a bug zapper.

So The Japanese Bantams Will Be Good To Catch Bugs Or Just The Old English Game
