Are descendants of fighting cocks mean natuarly?

First, let us see a picture of the offending bird. Secondly, some gamecock strains are reputed to be man-fighters and it has a genetic basis to it. A Kelso line we used to make battle crosses with produced a high frequency of man-fighters even when bred to our hens and were handled in a manner similar to how we handled pure and other crosses that where not so problematic. Thirdly, male chickens lacking a strong genetic predisposition to being man-fighters can be conditioned to be so. Messing with a mature game rooster during the heavy part of molt can get a defensive attack. Messing with a cocks hen or chicks can get you attacked as well.

Then you have that aggression related to birds training you to put more feed down.

Let us see the bird.

Is the bird dark faced (mulberry) or red faced? Generally, the dark faced dark eyed birds have a greater tendency to be aggressive, this was my experience with breeding pit games for many years. Once they turn human aggressive they are very rarely broken from it, give him a little time and benefit of the doubt but if he persists, cull him.
