Are ducks like dogs?

I believe the key to training any animal is routine and repatition. I had a pet rabbit that I could turn loose in the backyard (fenced in) when I gave a specific whistle he would come to me. He also gave kisses and sat up and begged on command. Anyway, it took a lot of repatition but he was trained.

Also, I think Aflac would be a good name.

And I had a friend with a dog named Shiro. It was a great dog and my friend was very much into Japanese stuff. So now I know where that name came from.

My ducks respond to "duck, duck, duck" every time. Of course, I have been saying it every time I feed them for the last 6 months....so....

A couple of them seem to know their names. But only a couple. Mostly the names are for my benefit. But Walter and Ciscoe seem to know their names. Ciscoe will even come over to peck at me when I call him by name.

My Pekin Zoe nows her name. She stays in the basement and if I say Zoe from upstairs she always quacks loudly. Also she knows where her treats are. In order to get her in her cage at night she has to have a handful of dried mealworms if not she just walks back and fourth like "mom aren't you forgetting something!" She is so funny to watch!
