I have a mixed batch of almost 3 week old chicks. Cochin, marans, faverolles, Brahma. Plus 2 EE.
One is pretty calm but still more hyper than the rest. The OTHER, oh my. This little thing hurls itself into the rest when they are gathered in a bunch and lands on top of them feet first. This goes on constantly. The others cry like they are under attack and run frantically. She gets them anyway. Never seen this kind of thing, are Easter eggers normally squirrelly like this? She's slowing down getting the others hand tame.

My EE's have never been top of pecking order. Either they are the lowest or in the middle. Ive also heard people say their EE's aren't as friendly as other breeds, I have had just the opposite experience. Your little crazy might be establishing that its top chick, or it could be a little cockerel. BTW- Welcome fellow Up-stater!!

Thanks! I'd hope it's a pullet, bought it sexed. Of course things happen. This is crazy though, those fat little cochins are terrorized all the time.

Is he just jumping on flock mates, or is he pecking them as well? You might try putting up a little divider, and keep him separated for a day or two. My EE have always been lower in the pecking order, occasionally more skittish, but EE have also been among my friendliest birds. Love my EE. One often overlooked fact is that EE can be bred from any number of birds. They are just mutts that hopefully have muff and beard, and lay colorful eggs. Though plenty of hatchery EE lack the facial adornment, and lay brown eggs.

So who knows what the blend is!
Not pecking, just flying/ hurling into them.
Maybe I'll divide the little jerk that's a thought.

This little monster also flies like a sparrow I might add. Glares balefully. Won't take treats like the others.

He or she is very pretty. Huge puffy cheeks, can barely see her eyes. Chipmunk type color, striped wings. The other one is dark, also puffy, and active but sweet.

Here's the little beast lol. Note the open beak. Screaming constantly. Even though held daily.
