How many eggs do ya get from them a week?

I`m starting my laying flock and at first I was thinking of 10 rhode island reds but I think I want more color (eggs) to make it a little more fun.But are they good layers like the rhode island reds?I`m not to picky on egg size but I don`t want hens that slack off ,but I don`t mind if they do once in a while if the other hens lay yearround.

The one I have at present laying gives me 3 to 4 eggs a week.

Oh wow...thats great!
My neighbor said that they only lay one egg a week but he didn`t keep them before so I think he`s talking about a different easter egger.lol.

OK, now, the rest of the story.

I had two previous Easter Eggers... I re homed one and the other passed on.

One laid a creme colored egg maybe once a week.

The other laid a brown egg, once every other week.

Mahonri the second part of your story doesn't sound to good. Did yours ever go broody? Mine tried but were to rough on the eggs and broke most of them.

I have one ee that gives me almost an egg a day. She is a very special girl. It's a pretty good average for a bantam ee pullet that won't be a year old till this Aug.
ETA: Not only is ours a good layer but she is a very docile bird with a smile on her face all the time!

I have 2 EE girls that are laying as many as the barred rocks, and are laying even bigger eggs than them. I love them.

I've got 4 EE about 7 months old, and I'm getting roughly 20 eggs a week. 5 eggs a week per bird is plenty good for me.
