Are eggs from chickens with worms safe to eat?

Hi all,
We've begun to notice worm tracks in some of our girls' eggs. It looks like a wiggly lighter colored trail across the surface of the yolk. We're noticing them in maybe 1 out of every 7 or 8 eggs. We are going to worm our chickens but in the meanwhile we have a pile of eggs already laid. Has anyone ever heard of humans contracting worms from wormy eggs? I know some types of worms can live in different hosts. So far I've just cooked the eggs well (which I hate to do because I like them soft scrambled, lol). I can't find *anything* about this online so probably its not an issue, but I can't help but be a little leery.

I'd say chances are slim if the eggs are cooked properly, although it doesn't really answer the question! I am not too sure either but I would certainly be put off eating the eggs in any case if I noticed worms and then the treatment I would give would probably have a withdrawal period too, just done some online research and apparently the answer is no we can't, they are host specific

I still wouldn't want to eat them though

Are you sure it's not that stringy thing that's in all eggs but you don't always see? It's technically an umbilical cord. Google it and see.
