Are eggs still good to eat with gen on them all day?

I was wondering if a fertile egg is still good to eat if a gen sits on it for up to 8 hours? I check in the morning and no eggs but when I come home from work they have eggs but the broody hens are sitting on them. I don't know for how long, could be 8 hours or only a couple. Are they still ok to take away that night and eat?

Just seconding they're fine.

My broodies stay in the coop, and the other hens like to donate eggs to her cause. So, every night (or sometimes every other night) I go out and collect the extra eggs. This means she's been setting on them sometimes over a day. It takes about 3 days of incubation for development to start. Once in a while I notice a larger germinal disc thing, but no blood vessels, etc.
