Just bought a flock block because its winter and no grass. I let them out for 30 min in the garden maybe an hour. Well it contains oyster shell and everything for laying hens but My flock is on all flock feed because of our rooster. Plus he doesnt eat the oyster shell. Would he be fine if he also ate the block or should I just try and let the ladies eat it? The block is very big and heavy

I also pretty much feed all my hens that are of laying age layer pellets. Also the roosters that are this old. They have been fine. Pretty much anything that you want to feed your hens I think the rooster can also eat if you don't mind him eating it.

I give them all flock because yes he will be fine eating the layer feed but he won't live long and I don't want to take that chance. But thanks all for the comments.

Junk food, IMO.
More for the keeper gratification than the birds.
All they need is a good chicken ration.
I agree with you, but having a variety of foods can't be bad. My chickens eat corn, greens, blueberries, cherries, mealworms, and sunflower seeds. I usually rotate this everyday. I got nothing better to do, lol. I made this part of my chore on top of cleaning there coop everyday.
